ABS the Australian Bureau of Statistics provides business and economics reports and statistics.
AFFA Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry - Australia (previously the Department of Primary Industry and Energy) is involved in the export of much of Australia's primary produce.
AFP the Australian Federal Police site contains interesting media releases about international frauds, attempted imports of illegal substances and so on.
AQIS The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) is an agency within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry - Australia (AFFA). All Australian Government information on quarantine, inspection, rural economics and science and agriculture is now available on the new AFFA web site.
ASIC The Australian Securities and Investments Commission site is where you go for information about starting up and operating a small business, company name and business name searches, the Gull Awards (read as in "gullability").

Ausinfo this site ensures that government information is readily available to the public. Also gives access to GOLD - the Government On-line Directory - which you can use to find contact info for bureaucrats.
Austrade is the government's organisation whose role is to promote the export of Australian products and expertise. They also administer government grants such as the Export Market Development Grant scheme amongst others.
Australian Government Entry Point the "front door" through which to get to all the federal and state government departments' websites.
BEP the government's Business Entry Point is another front door to government websites, but is directed at business-related sites,with the emphasis on small business.
Customs the Australian Customs Service is the main organisation that every Australian exporter and importer, either directly or indirectly, has to deal with. They have an excellent and informative site.
DFAT the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the parent of Austrade, contains interesting business statistics on a wide range of countries, designed to assist Australian exporters.

EFIC is the Export Finance Insurance Corporation, funded by the government to support exports of Australian products and expertise. They do this in a number of ways including insuring country risk, customer risk, guaranteeing bid bonds etc.
IP Australia deals with intellectual property - trademarks, patents etc - and has a searchable database with which you can check if your product infringes someone else's trademark
