Incoterms 2000

"Incoterms 2000", International Chamber of Commerce publication 560

There are a number of terms of trade used internationally. Most are mis-used. For example, the use of FOB for airfreight is incorrect -- why? Because the point where the seller's risk etc ceases is at the ship's rail. There's no ship's rail on a 747! So it is absolutely vital that every company engaged in exporting or importing has at least one copy of this publication. Every export marketer and sales person, every import purchasing person, should be totally familiar with each of the relevant terms so that everyone knows precisely what their commitment is in terms of cost, risk and responsibility.
